A History of Shipwrecks in Nantucket Sound

A History of Shipwrecks in Nantucket Sound

Save Our Sound continues its FREE monthly webinar series, "A Celebration of Nantucket Sound" (ACONS) with Jim Jenney, a renowned marine historian with a lifelong passion for shipwrecks. A wreck diver, speaker, and author, Jim has been actively searching for and researching maritime disasters and lost vessels at sea for sixty years. He authored a regular newspaper column “New England Underwater”, established the U.S. Shipwreck Data Bank, and created a series of Regional Shipwreck Reports to help divers learn about wrecks in their areas. In 2007, Jim completed an extensive research project of shipwrecks in Nantucket Sound, culminating in a report entitled “A Study of Shipwrecks in the waters around Horseshoe Shoal.”

For this webinar, Jim will be presenting a history of vessels lost at sea in Nantucket Sound.

A live Q&A will follow the presentation.
