Art with Ana: Watercolor for Beginners

5 Wednesdays, Sep 10-Oct 8, 2-4pm. Member $190, Not-yet-Member $209 Working with artist Ana Johnson-Moore, students will learn the fundamentals of watercolor: color mixing, paper properties, basic brushwork, and simple techniques designed for total beginners. No experience necessary, just a desire to learn and have fun. Participants can look forward to learning in a supportive and inspiring environment. • Materials List: • Watercolor paints: a basic set with a variety of colors (pans or tubes) • Suggested brands: Holbein, Daniel Smith, Winsor & Newton, Arteza, Prima Marketing • Watercolor brushes: a set of round and flat brushes in different sizes (e.g., small, • medium, large), one medium fan brush • Watercolor paper: Arches hot or cold-pressed paper in a pad or block, 12x16 in, 300 g/m- 140 lb • Palette for mixing paints, plastic or ceramic • Water jar for rinsing brushes • Paper towels or a rag for blotting brushes and cleaning up spills • Masking tape for securing paper to a board or table • Pencil and eraser for sketching out designs before painting
