Fundamentals of Inking with Dylan Griffin

Saturday, Aug 2, 11-4pm. This concise, 5-hour weekend workshop with artist Dylan Griffin will cover inking basics -- you'll learn how to handle the traditional tools of inking and explore how this exciting medium can bring clarity to your work using Yasutomo inks and fine brushes. You'll learn the difference between watercolor brushes and Asian brushes and how they behave with certain papers and the differences between India Inks and Japanese Inks. You'll explore texture, line weight, and ink washes and gain the confidence and control to get you started in ink. This class is intended for artists with experience in other mediums who are interested in adding ink skills to their toolbox. All materials provided.
