History On Tap with Bad Martha Brewing

Join us for the last installment of this 3 part living history series this summer at the museum, on July 28th, with Living Historians from the Cape Cod National Seashore (Lifesaving Service Demonstration). This series is designed for adults and families to interact with history, enjoy some nibbles, and enjoy beer tastings from Bad Martha Brewing Company on the museum's waterfront back patio. Living Historians will be presenting live talks, videos, and demonstrations and will be free to answer any questions about their artifacts, history, or cultural heritage. Visitors will be encouraged to be curious, ask questions, and learn all about these periods of history while sampling local brews. Join us for a literal blast from the past! Around the turn of the 20th century, the busy shipping corridor between Boston and New York had over 3,000 wrecks in this "graveyard of the Atlantic." Many successful rescues were performed by the United States Lifesaving Service, the precursor to the present-day Coast Guard. Come see how it was done before the days of power boats and helicopters.
