Slow Clay: A Coil-Building Workshop for Beginners

Thu, Jun 26, 1-5pm. Are you looking for a new way to work with clay? Exploring how to expand your expressive potential with clay? This four-hour hands-on workshop is designed to introduce you to the art of using coils to hand-build with clay. Participants will learn how coil building can be used to create a multitude of forms, from simple, elegant vessels to larger abstract sculptural shapes. Demonstration and individual instruction will be given throughout the workshop. This introductory class is perfect for those taking their first steps in clay, or for experienced potters as an alternative to their wheel throwing skills. Come enjoy the tactile and relaxing pleasures of “slow clay.” All materials included. Students may choose one piece from the workshop to be glazed and fired. $85 Members, $95 Not-Yet-Members.
