Join us for our first event with our new “sister museum,” The Wooden Boat Museum of Labrador and Newfoundland! We’ll hear about Basque fishermen who visited the southeast coast of Canada in the 17th century. Jim Dempsey is President of the Wooden Boat Museum of Newfoundland and Labrador. He has spent years as a marine researcher, and now works as an emergency and oil spill response advisor. He has sailed the east coast of Canada from Sable Island to Baffin Bay, and has always been fascinated by wooden boats. He is now applying his carpentry skills to boat building.
